I have been volunteering/working with a few local environmental and land conservation non-profit organizations for a year or so. This 'work' runs the gamut from simply donating photographs for use in newsletters to actively photographing events and lands to sitting on the Board of Directors. Here are a few of my activities...

Utah Chapter of the Sierra Club: The Utah Chapter of the Sierra Club publishes a newsletter (paper and PDF) seasonally. In the Spring 2010 issue you can find numerous thoughtful articles as two images I took in the Bentonite Hills and of a dramatic hoodoo near Moab.

Friends of the Great Salt Lake: An active volunteer for FoGSL, I have photographed a number of events including  field trips to Antelope Island and the Spiral Jetty, as well as the bi-annual Issues Forum. They have also utilized a number of my photographs for brochures, posters and their latest 4-color newsletter.

The Wilderness Society: Earlier this past winter I was contacted by the southwest region director of The Wilderness Society who found me via an Internet search (thank you Google!). She was interested in photographs of realitvely obscure mountain ranges in the southwast area of Utah's West Desert. I agreed to take trips southward to document via photos these mountain ranges -- the Wah Wah Mountains, the Mountain Home Range, the San Francisco Mountains, the Mineral Mountains, and the Kingston Canyon area -- and have provided a number of these images as part of their proposal to include these lands in widerness packages.

HEAL Utah: Recently elected to the Board of Directors of this "watchdog" organization, I have also donated images for use in promotional pieces as well as part of an award to a national level politician.
